VitaKelp® Hebridean Seaweed is a highly nutritious edible seaweed that is wild-harvested using proprietary processing, from the pristine sea lochs of the Scottish Outer Hebridean Islands. The nutritional profile of this brown seaweed, species Ascophyllum nodosum—commonly called Knotted Wrack —cannot be matched in land plants and provides minerals at levels exceeding other “superfoods”.
Unsurpassed Quality
The proprietary techniques ensure high-nutritional quality in this traceable, raw ingredient. This ingredient also provides whole food nutrition, meaning all the nutrition supplied by Mother Nature, hardly modified by interventions. We know this is important.
Natural Source of Bioavailable Iodine
Iodine is an essential mineral for normal thyroid function, energy metabolism, neurological development and breast health. Iodine deficiency or insufficiency is common in many countries, especially among women of childbearing age, pregnant women and children.
The recommended serving of VitaKelp® Hebridean Seaweed (500-1000 mg) provides around 350-700 mcgs of highly-bioavailable, delayed-release iodine.
Sustainable
Seaweed is highly sustainable, with no requirement for fresh water, land or fertilizer to grow, and the factory where it is processed has won numerous environmental and sustainability awards. VitaKelp®Hebridean Seaweed is certified-organic and kosher.
